Spring Break Day Camp Options

Learn some history and the basics for shadow puppets, design, build, and how to manipulate your puppets. Rehearse a short play. Performance at the end of the week. Students will be working in groups of mixed ages, and more experienced campers may become group leaders during camp. Also, due to using craft knives and other sharp instruments, older students may be asked to pair up with a younger student when it is time to cut puppet desings. All supplies included. Please bring a snack and water bottle.
AGES: 10-18, or 3rd-12th grade
TIME: 9am - 12:00pm

PERFORMANCE: Friday evening 3/29, 7:30pm, invitation only.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION - BEFORE 02/24/24: $130
PRICE AFTER 02/24/24: $185 - must have at least 6 students registered by 3/08 to keep camp.
Playwriting Camp: 1pm - 4pm

Write, read, listen to feedback, edit, and refine a short script during this camp. Students, you will learn methods to write your own short scene or ten-minute play that you can take with you to potentially direct and produce one day. While computers are not necessary, if your student has a tablet or computer with a writing app or program, they are encouraged to bring it to camp for their own writings. There will be a staged reading at the end of the week. Pencils and notebooks will be provided for all campers. Please bring a snack and water bottle.
